From Appalachia is our tribute to the music and memories of Morgantown, WV rock band Karma To Burn and their fallen leader William Mecum.

Quick story...

The first non-all ages concert I ever attended was Karma To Burn. I had just turned 18 years old the day prior so to celebrate a friend and I went to The Stoned Monkey bar in Huntington, WV on December 26, 1998, to see what would be a life changing concert for me. K2B were raw, heavy, moving and sounded huge which was bizarre since they were a 3 piece and had a simple equipment setup. William's soulful guitar playing and infectious stage presence mixed with the low end rumble of Rich Mullins on bass and the right in the pocket drumming of Nathan Limbaugh made for a once in a lifetime experience for my young ears.

I would go on to see K2B many more times over the next two decades but this first show was the one that truly cemented my fandom.

William will be truly missed in the music community he and Karma To Burn helped to create. We created this recording in his memory and for those in his family and friends who are grieving the loss of a dear friend.

By no means do we think these songs stack up against anything K2B ever produced nor was that the intention. The song titles are just One, Two, Three, Four as an obvious tip of the cap to K2B and the music has a groove and feel that is more in the desert rock wheelhouse that K2B helped create and live in for their career.

These songs are a departure from the normal Ghost Tamer style, but we hope you will give them a listen and find some enjoyment.

Rest well William Mecum. To his family and friends we truly wish you peace through this terrible time.
